TamTam Messenger (Discontinued)

TamTam Messenger 2.34.15 was the Android app of TamTam, a messaging service from Odnoklassniki Ltd. It offered private chats, group chats, public channels and calls. The service was discontinued on February 27, 2026, so the app no longer provides a working messenger. There is no reason to download TamTam Messenger for Android today other than curiosity.

Overview

TamTam appeared as a messenger from the team behind the Odnoklassniki social network and offered a feature set similar to other popular messengers: chats with text, photos, videos and voice messages, large group chats, public channels for news and communities, and voice and video calls. It could be used with a phone number and had versions for phones and computers. Channels were one of its main attractions, as creators could publish updates to large audiences. When the service ended on February 27, 2026, the servers stopped delivering messages, so the app can no longer send or receive anything. Installing an old copy would only give you a client with nothing to connect to, and without updates it would not receive security fixes either.

What happened to chats and data?

Conversations lived on the service's servers. After the shutdown they can no longer be accessed through the app. If you still have the app installed and see cached messages, screenshots or manual copies are the only way to keep them. For questions about personal data held by the company, contact the operator through its official site, odnoklassniki.com.

What to do now

1. Uninstall the app to free storage.
2. Tell contacts which messenger you use now.
3. If you followed channels, look for the same creators on other platforms.
4. Be careful with links promising a "new TamTam" or an unofficial restored version.
5. Remove the app from any backup lists so it is not restored on a new phone.

Key facts

A reminder about closed services

When a messenger closes, anything stored only in it disappears with it. Whatever app you move to, export important chats from time to time and keep copies of photos and documents outside the messenger, so a future shutdown or a lost account does not take them with it.

Choosing a new messenger

Think about where your contacts are, whether you need channels or large groups, and how important end-to-end encryption is for you. Messengers with open protocols and published security audits offer the most transparency.
